The Choice

What are you going to do with Jesus?
Our lives are cluttered with so many questions, decisions and daily actions that the biggest question often goes unanswered: what are you going to do with Jesus? Most Australians have never really considered that question properly. But sadly, there’s no sitting on the fence when it comes to Jesus. If you are not for him, you are against him. And many people you know will die never having properly considered the question. They never made an informed choice.
This term at Central Church we will give everyone all they need to make an informed choice. Will you live for Christ and live eternally with God or live for yourself alone and face eternity without God?

At the Congregational Meeting on Sunday, March 25, we will vote for new elders. This is a really important process in the life of the church and we would ask you to be praying about it. We realise that you may not know all the details about the men who have been nominated, so we have prepared some profiles for each. They can be accessed by clicking here … Elders Profiles 2012
ACTS 1:8 Mission to the Solomon Islands

ACTS 1:8 Mission to the Solomon Islands
2012 will make trip number six for Acts 1:8 (Central’s short-term mission to the Solomons). So far two libraries have been built and stocked with about 8000 books between them. Approximately 60 local people have been trained to teach literacy armed with strategies and materials provided by Central Church. Approximately 20 local people have been trained as kindy teachers. Some are now recognised by the government and get paid for their work. Two men have trained to become Pastors. The effects of these Short Term Mission trips to the Solomon Islands have been life changing for those special people with whom we have had contact and for a number of those from our midst who have made that trip.
What’s Happening this Trip?
The vision is to have all of Guadal Canal reading and writing by 2020. To that end, in 2012 the team will go to Katehana to build a library and literacy centre, and to Avuavu, over on the other side of the island, so that literacy can begin again in a whole new region.
Interested?
We need builders, teachers, people with administration skills, cooks, and general helpers to make this vision a reality.
The team leaves for 2 weeks at the end of September (over the school holiday period). Total cost per person will be approximately $1000.
An application form can be downloaded here – Solomons Application. Please return to PO Box 577 Ipswich Qld 4305 or put it in the slot at the Information Desk at church.
