I’ve hit Leviticus! Yes I started reading through the Old Testament again some time ago and now I’m in Leviticus. It can be hard work going through all those laws and ceremonial washings. But God’s Word is always powerful and relevant. Today I read in chapter 23 about the feasts that God called His people to keep. It’s like God telling his people to party because He is good. He wants them to celebrate the fact that they are His people and that’s a great situation to be in.

It’s the same for us this Christmas season. We have Christmas dinners and parties because God is good and has saved us. As Christians, we’ve got the best reason to have a wonderful festive season. We ought to sing. We ought to shout. We ought to laugh. We ought to eat and drink and celebrate Jesus’ birth.
