Q: Is there childcare available at your Services?
A: Yes! But it's more than just a babysitting service! From our babies to our teens, the adult volunteers at Central Church see your child as a person with a capacity to grow spiritually no matter what the age. Ask the person who greets you at the door to help you find the right location for your child and they will be glad to assist you. Click here for our Child Protection Policy |

Q: What kind of music do you sing?
A: At Central Church we believe that there is no such thing as Christian music, only Christian lyrics! We understand that in this diverse culture, people's taste in music varies greatly. That is why we offer multiple services with different types of musical styles. At Morning Church (9am Sundays) we have a full praise band and sing many contemporary songs from today's songwriters like Matt Redman, Chris Tomlin, Bryson Smith, Darlene Zschech, Stuart Townsend, and many more. Traditional Church (10:30am Sundays) has more of a formal feel using a blend of hymns and some praise choruses, all accompanied by our fantastic pipe organ. At Night Church (6:30pm Sundays) we sing contemporary songs, a little more up tempo than at Morning Church. |

Q: What denomination are you?
A: Central Church is a member congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Australia. As such, we are a part of the Presbyterian Church of Queensland (State) and the Presbytery of Mowbray (Regional). The Presbyterian Church became an Australian denomination in 1901. The name Presbyterian comes from the Greek word presbuteros which is the word for Elder (mature Christian leader) in the New Testament of the Bible. Elders are elected to govern the affairs of the Church. The use of the name Presbyterian reflects the Church’s aim to be faithful to the Bible’s teaching on the church, even in the 21st century. All Presbyterian Church property is held in a central trust but we choose our own staff, our own buildings and assets, and determine our own programs. |

Q: Will I be asked to give money?
A: At Central Church we never ask our guests to give anything... simply enjoy the worship and teaching that is offered as a gift from our family to you. Of course you can make an offering if you wish, but none is ever expected from visitors. That is the responsibility of our members and regular attendees. |

Q: Can I get my kids Christened?
A: We don't call it 'christening,' we refer to it as baptism, and yes, we do baptise infants as long as one of the parents is a professing Christian. We have brochures that explain about baptism in greater detail so please call the church office if you'd like us to send you one, or to arrange a meeting with one of our Ministers. |
