Is there childcare available at your Services?
Yes! But it’s more than just a babysitting service! From our babies to our teens, our volunteers see your child as a person with a capacity to grow spiritually no matter what the age. Ask the person who greets you at the door to help you find the right place for your child.
What kind of music do you sing?
We believe that there is no such thing as Christian music, only Christian lyrics! We understand that people’s taste in music varies greatly. That’s why we offer different services with different musical styles. At Morning Church (9 am) we have a full band and sing contemporary songs from today’s songwriters like Matt Redman, Chris Tomlin, Bryson Smith, Stuart Townend. Traditional Church (10:30 am) uses hymns accompanied by our fantastic pipe organ. At Night Church (6:30 pm) we sing contemporary songs, a little more up tempo than at Morning Church.
What denomination are you?
Central Church is a member congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Australia. The Presbyterian Church became an Australian denomination in 1901. The name Presbyterian comes from the Greek word presbuteros which is the word for Elder (mature Christian leader) in the New Testament of the Bible.
At our Sunday gatherings you will see everything from jeans to suits. Most come casually dressed. It’s up to you!
We never ask our guests to give anything… simply enjoy the worship and teaching that is offered as a gift from our family to you. Of course you can make an offering if you wish, but none is ever expected from visitors. That is the responsibility of our members and regular attendees.
The best way get to know people is through our homegroups. Homegroups are small meetings of Central Church people during the week. They meet all over the city and provide the opportunity for people to build friendships, talk about their faith and support one another in life. If you have any other questions, give our church office a call on 3413 1050.
