Weekly Prayer List
Thursday 5 June 2025
Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Col 4.2-3
Let’s pray for…
VALUE 5 - God’s people are His plan (the church matters to God so it matters to us)
Nic Crook & OMF
Please pray for Nic as he is travelling a lot at the moment. Pray he stays well and clear of the seasonal sicknesses, for good connections with those thinking about mission work. Pray that God would be at work in young people in particular across Queensland, giving them a heart for the lost and the knowledge of the practical steps they can take towards serving in mission. Give thanks for Nic’s part in our Global Mission Support Team.
Persecuted Church Worldwide
Please pray for the Christians in Eritrea.
The government only recognises the Eritrean Orthodox Church, Catholic, and Lutheran Churches, and Islam. Converts from Islam or Orthodoxy to Protestantism risk severe mistreatment from their families and communities.
Daily life is heavily monitored, with phone calls and internet usage under constant scrutiny. Christians, especially those not recognised by the state, suffer the most. Extreme pressure, state-sanctioned violence, and conscription are forcing some Christians to flee the country.
Conscription pushes young Christians—male and female—into indefinite military service without the right to conscientious objection.
School Chaplains:
Please pray for Thomas McPherson (BBC School Chaplain), Megan Harris (training chaplains with SU) and Jaida Perry-Gill (Indooroopilly State School & Ipswich High) as we move towards the last part of term 2. Pray they would be strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that they may have great endurance and patience in their challenging and rewarding task.
